Goose Insurance Services, a Vancouver-based insurance technology company, has recently closed a $4 million Series A funding round led by Axis Insurance Managers, with participation from Impression Ventures, Real Ventures, and Manchester Story. The funds will be used to accelerate the adoption of its insurance super app, which offers over 19 different insurance policies, including travel, renters, pet, critical illness, and up to 1 million of term life insurance, all within minutes from the Goose app. The app has experienced rapid adoption and growth, doubling its membership base and premiums in the past year. Goose has expanded its product offerings by working closely with carriers like AIG, IMG, iA Financial Group, TeachersLife, and American Amicable, and was recently appointed a coverholder for Lloyds of London. According to the CEO, the company is on a mission to make insurance products instantly accessible to the 200 million underserved consumers through its self-serve insurance super app. The funding will be used to accelerate the adoption of the app through education and awareness initiatives in Canada and the US. The company has identified coverage gaps due to a lack of education on the need for life insurance and awareness about affordable and accessible insurance options, creating opportunities for further sector growth. The insurance industry is ripe for disruption and Goose’s app-first approach has attracted investors who believe the company will be a market-leading player in this space.
