MWC – 4YFN LA: JETRO to Showcase 9 Japanese Startups

The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will present 9 innovative Japanese startup companies at the 4YFN Startup Event at the Mobile World Congress, from October 22-24 in Los Angeles, CA. The Japan Innovation Pavilion, organized by JETRO, will be located at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), West Hall.

The startups are all participants of JETRO’s Japan Innovation Program, which provides boot camps with personal mentoring and acceleration opportunities. Representatives from the startups will demonstrate their products and services throughout the technology conference. Exhibitors include:

Cambrian Robotics (https://obniz.io): Cambrian Robotics created “obniz” an IoT Cloud Service that lets developers connect hardware to public web services in just a few minutes without the need for firmware development.

Concierge U (https://en.kuzen.io): Concierge U is a conversational SaaS company that developed the AI chat program “Kuzen” to reduce operational and onboarding costs for businesses. “Kuzen” allows employees to perform routine tasks, such as generating reports, from the comfort of their phone, giving more time to focus on more crucial tasks.
pop inc. (http://www.popgogogo.com): pop inc. is a licensing business for patented next-generation smartphone cameras, which use sensors, AI, and Big Data.

Stroly (https://weare.stroly.com/): Stroly is an online platform for maps linked with location information. Anyone can upload and add their own maps, or find maps created by others near their current location.

Symmetry (https://symmetryvr.com): Symmetry is a VR workflow solution tool for AEC professionals that allows users to collaboratively review 3D models in VR.

Challenge (http://challengego.co.jp/english.html): Challenge manufactures innovative products for security and disaster prevention. “EQguard” detects the intensity and arrival time of strong earthquake tremors prior to arrival, while “Schoolguard” – installed in more than 1,300 schools across Japan – is a system that reports suspicious individuals and emergencies with the press of a button.

InterMedia Laboratory (http://www.im-lab.com/english_top/): InterMedia Labs is developing and selling the C-Card, a multi-touch card which allows access to multiple websites by holding the card against a smartphone touch panel.

Mitsuya (https://www.mitsuya-plating.com): Mitsuya is a company that offers plating and finishing services for various industries. They have about 100 types of industrial plating, and their technology focuses on improving the surface of industrial products and adding functionality.

Unicast (https://www.unicast.ne.jp/who-we-are/): Unicast provides technology for communication robots used by enterprises for office reception, product presentations, foreign language response, and product recommendations as a personal shopper. In Japan, Unicast’s systems are deployed in shopping malls, airports, hotels, and more.
