Trust & Will makes estate planning accessible to everyone, including the millions of people who have made no legal provisions for what will happen to their dependents or their assets upon their death. Trust & Will, a modern estate planning platform, today announced it has completed a $6 million Series A round of financing. The round was led by Link Ventures with participation from existing investors, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, WTI, Halogen Ventures, Luma Launch, Techstars Ventures, and others. The investment brings Trust & Will’s total funding since launching its revolutionary digital estate planning platform to $8 million and will help the company aggressively expand its sales and marketing efforts as well as broaden and accelerate product development.
“We are thrilled for Trust & Will to be joining the Link Ventures family. There are so many reasons to celebrate a new partnership, and we are incredibly grateful to be working with the Link Ventures team, who has an exceptional background as former operators and investors,” said Cody Barbo, CEO and co-founder of Trust & Will.
The Series A financing builds on an exceptional year for Trust & Will which saw a rapidly growing customer base, with over 60,000+ members signing up since launching in April 2018. Trust & Will also completed the first electronic will (e-Will) in U.S. history earlier this year.
“Trust & Will is another example of how digital services are disrupting traditional industries by offering a convenient and lower cost estate planning solution that helps consumers protect their valuable assets and loved ones. We have been following this category for quite some and feel that Trust & Will’s product and rapid market traction are second to none. We look forward to leveraging our big data assets to help them scale,” said Rob Chaplinsky, Managing Director at Link Ventures (Lead Investor).
“We first met the Trust & Will team in the fall of 2018 and were immediately impressed with Cody’s vision to own the digital estate planning market and help millions of families across the country take the next step in protecting their legacy. We are proud to have participated in both the Seed and Series A rounds of another transformative company based outside of Silicon Valley,” said David Hall, Managing Partner of Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund.
Based in San Diego, California, and created in 2017, Trust & Will is an online service providing legal forms and information. All documents have been designed and vetted by attorneys experienced in estate planning.
Trust & Will currently offers the following products:
Trust-based estate plan ($399/499 + annual subscription): Avoid probate with a complete plan for the protection and transfer of your most important assets.

Part of the Series A funds will be used to develop several new products set to launch early next year.
“When we think about the future of Trust & Will, and building a category leading company, we are investing in our team, product, partnerships, acquisition, and education. We are arguably the fastest moving company in the estate planning vertical, while also being the youngest, at just over 2 years old. We are driven by our mission to help millions of families in America protect their legacy,” added Barbo.
